I picked long distance because I enjoy running.  Make sure you do some stretches before you race. Slow your breathing down and pace yourself. I have improved on my running because I feel fitter and I can run further than before. I can run at home in the weekends.An another event I can improve on is high jump because I need to be more confident in myself.
